Masking
Cuts, wraps and adheres masking paper around cigarette and filter rods to cover existing identification markings.
Masking and identification
Masking covers existing identification markings on a cigarette or filter rod by cutting, wrapping and adhering masking paper around the full circumference. The paper can be printed as it is applied, so the rod is relabelled in the same pass with a consistent finish.
The same machinery can also be used to wrap identification rings to finished products, offering further branding potential or position markers for the consumer.
Flexibility
The demand placed on this type of machinery is format flexibility. The equipment has to accept a range of rod diameters, lengths and wrap widths and be able to switch between them quickly. Drums are machined to accept more than one diameter, quick-release tooling and simple timing mechanisms bring a full format change in under 30 minutes.
Design
- Based on proven over-rolling technology
- Modular design and construction
- Servo driven axis for fast adjustment and format change
- Cross directional adjustable paper group to easily adjust wrapping material position on rod
- High speed vision inspection and ejection of non-conforming product
