ProCo has designed and supplied a number of different upgrade kits and ancillary equipment for making and packing machinery. For example, frequently we are requested to supply print registration systems, heat tunnels and packet stacking systems.
ProCo has developed a print registration system that is capable of being adapted to enable installation on most of the packet wrappers that are typically used in the cigarette and cigar manufacturing industry. For increased functionality the system utilises embedded PC modules and touch screen technology for the technician and operator interface. The simplicity of the system integration is such that it can be installed within one day. The system uses standard electronic and electrical components that are readily available.
As a response to customer requests ProCo has developed a heat tunnel that can easily be integrated into existing machinery layouts. The unit is independent, simple to operate and is a cost effective solution. The standard unit can cope with a range of packet sizes.
Another example of ProCo’s ancillary equipment is the independent mechanical stacking device that can be configured to suit the customer’s packet stacking requirements.
Provides the opportunity to be able to vary the speed of the hopper independent of the rest of the machine.
Tobacco flow can be adjusted for different types of filler to achieve the optimum for product quality.
The dense ends position within the tobacco rod can be adjusted.
Variation in the number of dense ends/positions in a tobacco rod from one up to eight with the possibility that the spacing of these dense positions/sections could be altered for example a group of four closely spaced followed by one at the opposite end subject to trials.
No requirement to change gearing as the rod length can be changed via the HMI.
One gearbox will cover all standard lengths (51-72mm).
ProCo has developed a system which enables the MK9 garniture to be extended by 300mm which in turn enables the installation of an additional long seam heater.
To achieve the installation of the extended garniture the main gearbox is relocated by the use of new support brackets and drive couplings.
The use of the extended garniture and additional heater improves the quality of product and machine performance particularly with the manufacture of cigarillos and cigars.
This assembly is as installed on Max80 and 90’s etc. The main advantage of the anterior rolling block assembly is that it is much easier to adjust than the standard Max’S’ assembly and it has a ‘stronger’ cylinder that virtually eliminates any ‘bounce’.
