Cigarette capsule removal to enable tobacco recovery from capsule cigarettes.
Detail
The machine is fed by trays using a pneumatically operated/indexed tray rack that accepts the standard Hauni trays. It doesn't matter if in each tray some cigarettes are TTI (tips turning in) and some are TTO (tips turning out) as the orientation can be completely random as this is detected when the cigarettes go through the hopper and onto the drums.
An alternative for feeding cigarettes without the requirement for trays is under investigation.
The cigarettes are orientated/positioned correctly on the drums then cut to enable the piece of filter containing the capsule to be removed. The remaining rod then exits the machine onto a conveyor for hand catching and tray filling or can be delivered directly to the ripper.
The machine is easily able to cope with significant range of cigarette sizes.
